Masculine Exploding Box Card

It is always a challenge making cards for the guys - there have been a few ideas floating around in my head and I finally got one created!!!  There are very few stores I go to that as I peruse the aisles I am not thinking of how something can be used in an exploding box card.  This mini ATV was a find at the local Dollar store....costing so little I decided to make the $1.00 investment and bring it home to play with.......I dug out my air dry crayola clay and made a base that I dabbed with some paints. When that was dry I used some of my collal glue to attach the ATV....then it was time to design the Exploding Box and sentiment.  I had several sentiments in mind but decided on "You're never too old to play in the dirt" -  I could have taken it in a few different directions, but this will work for a Birthday.  All in all I think its rather cute and certainly will work for a guy......but I'm not averse to changing the Box to red and making it for a girl.....I think there are plenty of young ladies who like to play in the dirt as well.

Ladybug Exploding Box Card in process

Today I was working on a special order for someone who needs a Ladybug themed exploding box card.  Its always such fun designing and playing with new requests like this one.  I had some ladybug paper for the outside in my stash and then purchased a ladybug file from the Silhouette store. Below is my 'high tech' way of keeping things in place when I glue them - this is the top layer of the two tier cake that will go inside this exploding box card.  It contains the name of the young lady the card is going to as well as the number one for her age.

This is the base layer, not all glued down yet.....the larger ladybugs have been mounted on action wobbles so they shake when you touch them - these always get the attention of younger children.  There are still a few more details needed on the cake when the two layer attached and I have to add a personalized message to the top panel with the customers well wishes and name.....Just too much fun making these exploding box cards.

Thanks for looking - I will probably add o ladybug style exploding box to my Etsy shop its been so much fun doing this one.
